RECYCLE-CIG, the Organized Collection Network for Used E-Cigarettes, kicks off
A pilot project was planned in the cities of Rome and Milan
A ribbon-cutting ceremony in Rome and Milan marks the start of the pilot project for RECYCLE-CIG, the organized collection network established by Logista and the Italian Federation of Tobacconists (FIT), with the aim of promoting the proper disposal of used electronic cigarettes.

Following the agreement signed last September with the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security and FIT, Logista - which ensures the distribution of e-cigarettes to over 60,000 points of sale in Italy - is committed to placing collection containers in the participating points of sale.
The collected waste, with the valuable support of the WEEE Coordination Center, will be sent to treatment plants, meeting the strictest standards in terms of traceability.
The innovative value of the initiative lies in the so-called "one against zero" formula, which allows consumers to freely deposit used disposables in the dedicated containers, without the obligation to purchase a new product.
In addition to reducing the incorrect disposal of this waste, or worse, its dispersal into the environment, RECYCLE-CIG represents another step forward towards a circular economy model that promotes the saving of raw materials, with environmental and economic benefits for the entire community.
