Sustainability

Logista’s Policy on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) establishes a framework that structures the CSR management in coherence with the corporate and business strategy and objectives, and guides the Group’s sustainability initiatives and new social responsibility projects.

Logista integrates ethical, business, social, environmental, economic and transparency and good corporate governance principles and values in its management and in developing its activities in all the countries where it is present. These principles and values are integrated into our strategy and management model, permeating all its acts, particularly those related to Good Governance and relationships with shareholders and investors, employees, clients and channels, suppliers, environment and society in general.

Logista is committed to numerous sustainability initiatives designed to minimize the impact of business by considering environment, community and business in a vision of mutual development.

Underlying the various ESG certifications received in recent years are transformative projects dedicated to social and environmental sustainability. First and foremost is a program dedicated to the responsible consumption of energy resources at operational sites, as well as equipping them with photovoltaic panels for the production of electricity that, where it is not self-generated, is purchased exclusively from renewable sources.

In terms of reducing emissions attributable to its operations, Logista is also investing in transportation solutions based on the use of fuels with reduced environmental impact. In terms of the reverse logistics strand, the Company has seen the successful consolidation of the Logista Green Box project for the reuse of cardboard boxes used to deliver products to retailers and launched RECYCLE-CIG, the organized circuit for the collection and recycling of electronic cigarettes and heated tobacco devices. Thanks to a Program Agreement with the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, the WEEE Coordination Center and the Italian Tobacconists Federation, Logista is equipping participating tobacconists with special containers, where consumers can drop off spent devices - with no obligation to buy new products. In this way, the collected WEEE is sent to treatment plants for the recovery of plastic, aluminum, lithium batteries and other materials.

RECYCLE-CIG not only aims to limit the misdelivery of e-waste or its dispersion into the environment, but also represents a step towards a circular economy model that encourages the saving of raw materials with environmental and economic benefits. In addition, by simplifying compliance for Retailers, the project ensures compliance of the entire supply chain with current WEEE regulations and confirms Logista as a cutting-edge partner.
