RECYCLE-CIG has been launched in Rome and Milan
The pilot project of RECYCLE-CIG, the organized collection network for used e-cigarettes, has officially started in Rome and Milan!
Thanks to the agreement signed with the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security and FIT, Logista has begun delivering collection containers for used electronic cigarettes to retail outlets, which have installed them to promote the proper disposal of these electronic devices.
The collected waste will subsequently be sent to appropriate treatment facilities, adhering to the strictest traceability standards with the support of the WEEE Coordination Center.
Through the Logista per te App, consumers can easily find all the tobacco shops participating in the collection network and reach them to dispose of used electronic cigarettes without the obligation to purchase new products ("one against zero" formula). The number of active outlets is growing, thus promoting a widespread service and demonstrating broad support and interest from the sector.

The spread of new-generation products has recorded extremely significant growth rates in recent years, making it increasingly important to consider the best end-of-life management processes for these products, given their environmental impact.
For every million pieces collected, the following can be recovered:
- 40 tons of batteries
- 36 tons of plastic
- 15 tons of other materials
RECYCLE-CIG not only aims to limit the incorrect disposal of this waste or its dispersion into the environment but also represents a step forward towards a circular economy model that promotes the saving of raw materials and provides environmental and economic benefits.
Additionally, the entire project simplifies the compliance requirements for retail outlets, ensuring that the entire supply chain adheres to current regulations and confirming Logista as a cutting-edge business partner for the distribution network.
