Smoke and Inhalation Products: Ipsos Study on the Phenomenon of Illegality

On April 3, 2024, Logista presented the findings of the research titled “Smoke and Inhalation Products: Study on the Phenomenon of Illegality”, conducted in collaboration with Ipsos, at the Sala degli Atti Parlamentari of the Senate.

The study revealed that purchases made through unofficial channels result in a revenue loss of approximately 540 million euros. Specifically, in the electronic sector, the estimated lost revenue is around 410 million euros. This overall revenue loss translates into the loss of 5,100 jobs and 620 million euros in missed tax revenues. For e-cigarettes, the total value flowing online through unofficial channels reaches 65% of the total online market value. The study also addresses the market size of light cannabis, which has a total value of over 2 billion euros.
