Viareggio, 10 April 2024

Logista inaugurates the Cash & Carry connected to the Transit Point in Viareggio, a facility equipped to supply smoking and inhalation products, as well as convenience products such as gadgets, lighters, food & beverage, and stationery, to about 800 retailers in northwestern Tuscany. Specifically, the sales points are located in Lucca, Pisa, Massa, Carrara, and La Spezia. Located in Viareggio (LU) at via Luca Ghiselli 16, the TP has a total area of 1,000 square meters, divided between commercial area, offices, and a modern warehouse.

The renovation of the company’s sites is the tangible expression of Logista’s extensive presence across the national territory, which, through investments and specialized solutions suitable for various sectors, enables faster and more sustainable market access for stakeholders, benefiting the entire supply chain.

Equipped with parking for customers and employees, loading areas for trucks and vans, the Viareggio warehouse is characterized by a responsible use of energy resources. Logista has long adopted a sustainability-oriented strategy that permeates all activities: from the use of renewable energy sources in 99% of its operational sites, to the reuse and recycling of Logista Green Boxes, the cardboard boxes used for daily deliveries, to the establishment of RECYCLE-CIG, which allows consumers to dispose of used electronic cigarettes in special containers provided to retailers by Logista.

Stefano Lilli, Director of Operations at Logista Italia, stated: “This site represents the increasingly strong relationship with our commercial partners, in particular with the over 800 retailers who can meet their needs promptly here, with positive effects on their business and on the distribution and tax system. Furthermore, the new Cash & Carry in Viareggio fully expresses Logista’s evolution in terms of diversification and sustainability. In this context, one of our most recent projects is the RECYCLE-CIG initiative, which involves the creation of a collection network for used electronic cigarettes to send the used e-cig to treatment and recycling facilities. Another step forward towards a circular economy model that promotes the saving of raw materials, with environmental and economic benefits for the entire community”.
