Logista inaugurates the new Cash&Carry in Gricignano di Aversa
The Company keeps investing in its widespread presence in the territory with a new Transit Point
Gricignano di Aversa, 9 May 2024
Logista inaugurates its new Transit Point in Gricignano di Aversa (CE), a facility equipped to supply smoking and inhalation products, as well as convenience products such as gadgets, lighters, food & beverage, and stationery, to over 1,800 retailers located in the areas of Naples and Caserta and their respective provinces. The new warehouse - located at via della Stazione (snc) - has a total area of 5,669 square meters, with over 400 square meters dedicated to the Cash&Carry. The external yard includes space for 3 semi-trailer bays, 15 van bays, and spacious parking. Additionally, charging stations for electric vehicles have been installed for the use of customers and employees.
The facility, designed according to strict criteria in terms of energy efficiency, has been assessed as suitable for the BREEAM certification process, which guarantees the sustainability of buildings (the process, which is already in progress, will be completed by this summer). Logista has now had a longstanding sustainability-oriented strategy that permeates all activities: from the use of renewable energy sources in 99% of its operational sites, to the reutilization and the recycling of Logista Green Boxes, the cardboard boxes used for daily deliveries, to the activation of RECYCLE-CIG, the organized network that allows consumers to dispose of used electronic cigarettes in designated containers located inside the tobacco shops participating to the initiative.
Federico Rella, Vice President and Director of Corporate Affairs of Logista Italy, stated: “The Transit Points are the tangible expression of Logista’s extensive presence across the national territory, which, through innovative solutions, enables ever better market access for stakeholders, with benefits for the entire supply chain. The new Cash&Carry in Gricignano will allow us to offer increasingly higher service levels and quality standards, also in terms of diversification and sustainability.”
Mario Antonelli, National President of the Italian Tobacconists Federation (FIT), stated: “The Cash&Carry in Gricignano will be an important reference point for all the tobacconists in the area. Indeed, we had already previously realized that the opening of newly designed depots facilitates the replenishment of Retailers. I therefore thank Logista for investing in increasingly sustainable development in this territory as well.”
